My screen-printing experience

" how type as image communicate in contemporary design"

We live in a world where effective communication needs to convey a message fast.

"A picture is worth a thousand words"

We look at words and see images.

How effective could it be to use text as image?

My dissertation was based on an extensive research into concrete poetry, contemporary artists such as Robert Indiana, Jennifer Holzer and graphic designers such as Lippa Pearce and Alan Fletcher among others.

The creative outcome

Thousands of British visit Spain every year so I decided to design a practical and entertaining phrase book to learn a few useful words about food, places where to go, things to do and so on.

Using typography to communicate the richness of the Spanish culture and traditional printing and bookmaking techniques for the production of an original and exciting book.

Elche in spring

The almond trees are in blossom in early spring

Spring is one of my favourites seasons in Elche because it is that time of the year when the countryside turns white and pink.

Hundreds of almond tree flowers cover the land and the landscape is spectacularly beautiful.

Tulips

Photography is one of my passions.

The first day of Spring in 2011, I took these photos in Kew Gardens.
Against all odds these tulips were growing in couples "wildly",  next to each other.
